Hair Trend: Messy Braids (try eet out!)

There are a million and one variations to the braid or plait hairstyles, but I find this particular version incredibly interesting. The look was used in the Free People's June 2011 Lookbook. I love how unruly and unkept the hairstyle looks. It has this effortless appeal to it which I really like.
I also linked a how-to video so everyone could attempt the "Messy Braid."

Younger the better right?

Let me introduce to you, French model, Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau. I went through her portfolio and the young girl is really talented. Her eyes are very focused. She seems to already know her best features and which angles will highlight them (teach me!), and she seems to want to pursue modeling. However, when this picture of the 10-year-old girl surfaced a couple of weeks ago, the media went mad! The little girl blatantly looks like a cougar which is 35 years her senior!
In addition, what is this publication portraying her as? Thylane seems to illustrate what many parents fear... Is their little girl growing up too fast? Or is society influencing them to grow up too fast?
Point is Thylane you are beautiful and talented but you need a more age-appropriate job next time.
Please tell me your thoughts.

Fashionising.com went into further detail, in their article, about the selection of models for each season so I advise you to scope it out -> Link.
