Last week, I went to China town but according to my mother, it is more like ghost town. She was telling me tales of Li Li, a short hot tempered Chinese lady, who was one hell of a hussler. Li Li would be persistent with her sales and always had a frantic look on her face because as soon as she saw the popo, homegirl would duck into every corner and hide before you even knew it.
However, last week's visit to China town was awfully quiet as a bunch of the stores no longer existed after being shut down by the police. The main excitement in CT was when I bargained a lady for a pair of earrings from $15 to $5, as soon as I walked back to pay the $5 she upped it to $6... so I just steupsed and walked away.
Also, I discovered a fashionista getting off the subway! I wanted to take a picture of her but my mother did not agree with that idea. I guess she thought I was trying to pull off a paparazzi scene but little did she know that her daughter had the courtesy to ask the girl first before taking any pictures.
Since I couldn't get a picture I decided to draw the lady :)
The woman had fiery red hair in a soft-serve ice cream (in a cone) up-do. She wore a large circular pair of orange sunglasses with an orange maxi skirt complemented by a purple tee under a brown jacket. My favourite part of her ensemble was how effortless she managed to look with her tiny purse slung across her body. She was a show-stopper.
Anyways my "Eat, Pray, Love" session still goes on...
That day, I obviously had to eat at a Chinese restaurant. I definitely recommend the chicken, broccoli and rice (it's always a crowd pleaser ;)). And later on, I had tiramisu at ICE and gourmet pizza at home :) (yummm). New York was definitely the "Eat" part in my journey to self-discovery. So as soon as I reached home I knew I had to begin the "Pray" part by attending church again and starting back my yoga classes. I am in a dying need of some meditation in my life. Sigh.
Have a blessed day tomorrow!
xoxo,

NB: I was eating a home-made biscuit during the creation of this post.
