Bird's eye view

One thing I love about fashion editorials is the subliminal messages they always contain. I recently viewed an editorial featuring Johanna Feldmeier in Schon Issue 12 and I was captured by the artistry behind the photography. In addition to the styling and Feldmeier's hair colour, the photography had an aged look to it. It was probably the effect of all the grey tonnes in the pictures.
Moreover, my favourite picture was the one where Feldmeier was holding a bird to cover her eye. At first, I thought it was just a cool angle but then I thought deeper about the pic and realised that the message being sent was referring to seeing in bird's eye view. Bird's eye view is an elevated view of an object from above, with a perspective as though the observer were a bird. So in other words, this picture comes as across bold, superior and confident because she is reigning herself to be the one on top viewing everything as below her. Then I thought to myself, wow so clever. And then thought, wow maybe I over-think things way too much lol.

Nothing's wrong is analyzing a good piece of art.
